A friend of mine's MacBook Pro was recently stolen and he has tracked it via Find My Mac but the image detail is not specific enough. Hence the police can't help him unless we can narrow the search. The satellite image shows that his computer is within five or six houses. Is there a way to narrow the search?

Knock on each door with some pretense, such as looking for a lost dog. While their door is open send a "play sound" command and hope that the computer is close enough to you to hear it.
