How do you set up a Calendar event as incremental in order to have Calendar show the number of years between start and anniversary, similar to a birthday?

For example:
I (finally) stopped smoking in December 2004.
My sister received her 'cancer-free diagnosis' on 3rd Jan 2018

How do I input these 2 slightly different types of event (one is a month, the other is a day) into Calendar like a birthday, i.e. so I see a 'no. of years' indication like birthday recurring events?

(Also, how do I change a Calendar event from 'recurring' to 'incremental'?)

Hope someone can help... :)

As an addendum, I've also tried (and failed) to ask Siri to "Set up recurring appointment from now on the first of the month to pay electricity bill" only to get a reply "Rick, I'm not able to schedule appintments in the past."
