Independent columns in Pages

Hello Forum. I am trying to set up two columns in pages that are not related. I have seen how to set up two columns where the second is filled after the first, but I want two that can be edited independently. It is how you show overlapping dialogue in a script. Any ideas.

Just create 2 text boxes. They will stay independent of each other as long as you do not link them.

But can I start them in the middle of the page and have them continue on for a number of pages afterward. I am having trouble making that work?

Just link the text box from page to page. This will allow text to continue.
