indexing on a 2nd hard drive

I have a 2nd hard drive in my MBP in the optical bay, the files on it do not appear in a spotlight search or finder search

any tips?

Try re-indexing your drive:

Spotlight: How to re-index folders or volumes​

If that fails to index, enter the following command in Terminal:

sudo mdutil -i on "/Volumes/your drive name"​
