Normally I wouldn't think much of this. I know tortoises live for a very long time. However, this story just struck me today. Imagine how much this tortoise has seen. I mean, he was probably alive back in the mid 1700s. A lot has happened since then. I wonder what type of world he first saw, and I wonder if he remembered what life was like 100 years ago, or even 250 years ago when he was young.
