Individual fan speed adjustment ?

Hey guys,

One of the fans in my 2007 mbp is broken and makes a horrifically loud buzzing and grinding noise when the fans speed up, is there a way to lower speeds of individual fans as the right one is fine but the let one needs turning down to reduce the noise a little.

SMC fan control can control the fans individually but OSX will always override fan control software if the laptop heats up to the point to that it needs to cool down. What you can try is preset the good fan to 3000 rpm's or so and see if that keeps the computer cool enough so OSX does not try to ramp the other fan up.

You best bet is to just fix the fans but this may be a temporary solution.

yeah im getting a new macbook in 3 weeks so this is just to get me by

edit: installed it but dosent seem to do anything to the fans? not sure why

Are you making the fan speed profile then saving and enabling it?
