I've been checking in with the local Walmart and one of their staff told me they are not going to be stocking any ipads. They do, however, have the smart covers. Anyone else have a similar experience? I don't really believe them as this person didn't seem like the most knowledgeable/reliable about what stock would be incoming (I asked them to see if they had any for me to buy then!).

Still looking for my ipad.........

They have smart covers but not actual iPads? I call malarkey.

It's up to Wal-Mart to decide where to send their stock.

That sounds about right

Heard the same deal from my Walmart. They have about 30 of the Smart Covers and don't plan on carrying the iPad 2 until they clear the inventory of iPad 1.

Wait. Someone who works at Walmart who doesn't seem to know what they are talking about? There's no way...

I got the same glassy eyed stare from two seperate tools at Target and we were withing eyeshot of the iPad display when asked.

At launch, I went to my nearest Walmart by my work. The employee said their store was one of the stores not selected to sell the iPad 1 or 2. At first I was thinking BS, then on my way home I stopped by another Walmart and same story. So I decided to stop by the Super Walmart by my house and sure enough, they had 10 units and I picked up the 9th one.

I have a feeling the smaller Walmarts aren't moving the products as well as the bigger Walmarts.

The Wal-Mart I bought my iPad from only had the iPad, no smart covers.
