I use the Indoor Cycle workout and the calorie counts are all over the place. Is there any info on how the Watch calculates calories burned on a stationary bike? I thought it might be the gentle movement of my hand but can't see a correlation.

It goes by heart rate, moving your hands doesn’t do anything.
I bike on a spin bike daily and see differences in calories burnt related to different heart rates, that’s it

Makes sense. It's pretty much the only thing it can measure. I don't do a vigorous ride so my HR doesn't go up that much. It's strange. Sometimes it says I burned 80+ and sometimes 35. That's what makes me wonder.

I wonder if there is a technical document on this somewhere.
