So, I've had my Intel iMac for 3 weeks now, and have had a system crash.
This is what happened. Shortly after I got my iMac I imported my photos from my backup store, where I'd backed up my PC before it died totally. Of course, the photo directorys are full of "thumbs.db" since XP creates that file every time you view folders in thumbnail view. So I decided to delete them.
I searched for thumbs.db using Spotlight, and found 211 of them. I selected all of them and dragged them to the trash (on reflection, not the best idea I ever had since I believe Photoshop has thumbs.db files).
Up popped the kernel panic screen that said "You need to restart your computer. Hold down the power button ... etc".
So, what did I do wrong here? (Apart from trying to delete all the thumbs.db files without checking where they are.)
Edit: yes, I mippselt "Intel"
