Infamous "Error Code 6"

I am running 10.6.7 on an iMac, and when I try to copy a "BIN" file for my pentax camera (firmware update) onto the "no name" hard-drive which shows up after connecting my camera via usb cable, I get the infamous "error code 6" message, and the disk ejects itself. Anyone able to help?
