Hi, I am Ben, a long-term user and indie developer for Mac.

I just released version 2 of InfiniDesk, a menu bar app which effectively lets you have more than one desktop on your Mac. Each desktop can have its own layout of files, folders, and wallpaper.

InfiniDesk is great for organization and focus if you like using the Mac desktop as a place to store files that you are working on.

With InfiniDesk, you can switch from a “Work” desktop, to an “Admin” desktop, to a “Creative” desktop, or to an empty desktop easily. The app now also integrates with Mission Control and can change the desktop contents as you change the Space (a useful feature Apple never implemented).

You can see the two basic modes InfiniDesk has here:

🖥️ There is a free trial of 100 desktop switches included in the app, for you to make a balanced assessment if it could be useful. If you like the app, it is a $12.99 one-time purchase, including all future updates.

🖥️ The app is compatible with macOS 11 Big Sur onwards (requiring macOS 14 Sonoma or later for Follow Spaces Mode). It is also compatible with macOS 26 Tahoe.

🖥️ Planned for the next version (released at the end of 2025): turn desktop widgets on/off per desktop.

If you have any feedback or feature requests, I am very happy to hear them.
