Hey guys,

I've had the notification for the 10.10.2 update for a long time now. However, whenever I try to do the restart for the update, the computer never shuts down; it takes forever. In fact, I have to hold down power button on my laptop to shutdown in general. This isn't the best way to shut down, though, and I can't ever install the update. How can I make the shutdown actually finish? :D

Either you have a very bad install or your hard drive may be the issue. Try repairing permissions and rebooting the computer. If that does not work you may need to do a clan install.
