I have really wanted to upload my photos to iCloud Photo Library, but there is still information I cannot obtain about how it uses space on my devices (iPhone 6, iPad Air, MacBook Pro w Yosemite). I bought the 64 Gb iPhone so I'd always space when I needed it. If iCloud is going to dump a bunch of (optimized) photos on it (I have 20,000), I want to know what is the max they will take and how much I can expect to keep free. If it is going to be "decided by" the Photos Library how much space to fill, I at least want to know how much, or at least what percentage I can know will be kept free. It is not enough to say they will delete stuff as needed (and what exactly would they choose to delete).

Also, I cleared my Photos Library off my computer hard drive because I had no space (I keep it on an external). Will all these optimized photos be dumped onto my hard drive now? And how can I limit how much space it will use.

Thanks for any information.
