Anybody here use Infuse Pro with their ATV? Thinking about uploading my movie collection to Dropbox and then streaming it via Infuse Pro. Would love to hear from anyone who has tried this. Thanks.

Have used Infuse Pro for years and it works extremely well, as long as your file names are on point. I have yet to use it with dropbox though. If it works for you, I may do this instead of using a NAS.

Do you have your movie collection in the cloud now? Any implications in doing so in regards to DMCA notices/takedowns and whatnot?

I'm in the process of uploading everything. I have very slow upload speeds from my ISP so it's gonna take time. I'm probably 75% done at this point.

Once everything is uploaded and I've had time to stream some titles, I'll report back on the main Infuse thread in this forum. I believe the DMCA issues are related to people sharing files. I suspect if you upload movies to your Dropbox it's a non-issue assuming you don't go sharing them to others. Otherwise Infuse and others wouldn't highlight this feature.

If you have a halfway decent wifi router you can plug in a (relatively) cheap & enormous external hard drive and use that drive as a network drive... no RAID etc or apps like a Synology but still...

I just got my ATV 4k.
Installed easy peasy.
Harmony Ultimate remote sorted just as easily.
Pointed to my Synology NAS via NFS share, and works great... i.e. plays all files no worries.

Seems easier than having to upload to the 'cloud' only to have to stream back down again whwen you want to watch something - should have noted i'm streaming from NAS upstairs over wifi to ATV downstaits on a 5GHz connection and bandwidth is no issue whatsoever.

I see it as the digital video version of what I'm already doing with my music collection, which is streaming from the cloud. I also have a place in Italy and want to be able to stream my movies with simply an Apple TV.

Assuming this all works in the end, it's exactly what I've wanted for years now.
