Since 10.5 it is not possible to inherit POSIX permissions. The only way to inherit permissions is to use ACLs. Foreseeing the fact that ACLs offer more options to adjust the file or folder access, there are finally two systems for setting permissions. This can mess up much and unnecessary complicates permission setting. POSIX is simple, straight forward and easy to understand and use. But this is only my little noob opinion.

So is there a way to inherit POSIX permissions by a script or tool?

Thanks in advance

If by POSIX you mean standard UNIX permissions then when copying a file or files use the –p preserve the permissions. Like so cp -p some_files /files_destination/.
