initltool to old needs upgrade

Hi There,

I hope someone can help me out here.
Initltool is a Utility scripts for internationalizing XML.

I installed Xamarin development studio on my Macbook Pro and want to install Glade(an add-on to Xamarin). This add-on needs an higher version of initltool.
I need to have version 4.1 or older.

Now the question is: How do I upgrade initltool en will it break other programs if I update it?

Well hope some one can help.
