iPod touch Inoperative center button 3rd gen. Touch

Hej,

I just replaced the battery of my 3rd generation Touch and it seemed to go well except that now the center button doesn't work. The touch screen itself works and the center button *moves*, it's just that the iPod doesn't respond when I press it.

The flex connector looks okay & I re-seated it that didn't help. I also re-booted that didn't help.

Any ideas??
