Hi,
I just created a new Time machine backup on an empty external hard drive partition.
At the end there was an .inprogress package (the same as the one that in temporarily creation during the Time machine backup process).
Hum.
I erased the partition one more time and made a Time Machine backup : an .inprogress package was once more here.
I must add that I have another Time machine backup that I previously made on an external hard drive.
Best !!!
I don't know why this package exists at the creation of the first (and remains on following) backup(s).
And don't know if it is harmless or not.
Can you help ?
Best regards.
