Hi everyone, I'm having an issue with my 13" 2013 MacBook Pro and Panasonic earbuds. I have a pair with an inline microphone that I've had for a few years, and all of the sudden the microphone input doesn't work anymore. The system detects that they're plugged in...and audio output works. "External Microphone" even shows up in System Preferences/Sound. But even with input volume turned all the way up, the input level is totally dead. There's no change in level at all.

Headphone mic input still works with my iPad, so I'm not sure what to do about this. I've rebooted my MBP, cleaned out the headphone jack, killed the coreaudiod process, and played with System Preferences a bunch. Is something wrong with the hardware? Anything else to try? Thanks for advice...
