Alright, I've just about had it with Apple's BS. I left my Mac for a bit, it went to sleep, and when I came back, my password was suddenly wrong - even though I was 100% sure I was typing it correctly. My Apple Wired Keyboard (yes, an Apple product) was registering keystrokes just fine, Caps Lock was showing properly, and yet… nothing. Just the little password box shaking like I’m an idiot who forgot how to type.
After a solid 10 minutes of retyping the same damn password, I dug out an old HP wired keyboard, plugged it in, and boom, logged in instantly. What the hell? Is this Apple's subtle way of telling me to get a stupid wireless Magic Keyboard? I'm aware the wired keyboard is old, but it's a generic USB accessory that should just work.
Oh, but it gets better. Once I got in, my Bluetooth mouse had completely disconnected and refused to reconnect. A crappy wired HP travel mouse saved the day again. If I hadn't had these I would've been screwed, as I had stuff open that I needed to access and couldn't just restart.
After I managed to get in and sort what I needed, I restarted and all is working again.
This has happened before straight after Mac updates but today was the first time it happened after just going to sleep. With the PDF rendering issues recently and now this, I am rapidly losing any confidence in Apple's ability to create decent products.
Anyone else had this nonsense happen?
