I'm taking Japanese in University right now, and my assignments are required to be typed in Japanese. Every online source has told me that to use the Japanese IME (input method editor) in OS X I have to select it from the "Input Menu" tab of the "International" area of system preferences. Unlike these online sources, I am not finding a Japanese Input Method type. In fact, I am finding no Input Methods of any kind whatsoever. Under the Input Type column, every non-Palette entry is just listed as "Keyboard", bringing me to believe that alternate IMEs are not even installed on my MacBook. Is that the case, and if so, where can I download them? If not, what could the problem be?

Thanks,
Will
