I have a problem with Input Sources in Snow Leopard. I can't seem to turn off some Asian text-inputs.

It's causing problems for me as you can see from the screenshot. Spotlight is a case in point. Some items are written in Chinese and other Asian characters.

I can't turn it of because the options are greyed out in Systems Preferences. I did an update and everything else works really well.

Can anyone cast some light on this?

I can't seem to figure it out...maybe I don't have full administrative rights after the upgrade; if that is the case how do I check out what my administrative status really is?
