Inserted disc wrongly

I accidentally inserted a disc wrongly into the Mac, which has an in-built disc slot. Instead of the disc cover facing towards me, I did it the opposite way. Do you think doing this could have scratched the disc in the Mac? Would appreciate our reply. Thanks!

Did you eject the disc and look at it?

We have absolutely no way of telling if it's scratched or not. Just look at it yourself.
