Hello,
After getting fed up with Podcasts app and iTunes, I think I'm ready to check the alternatives.
So far I'm between Instacast and Downcast.
Pocket Cast(s) didn't catch my attention, neither iCatcher!.
However, I think I'm heading towards Downcast, but it's missing the "Storage Limit" feature that Instacast apparently has.
The problem with Instacast 3 is that, nowhere on their site do they have a real help manual, perhaps because help is overrated nowadays and it's a lot of fun for users to waste their time trying to figure out things instead of writing down a simple phrase, ya know?
Anyway, I saw this post on their FAQ, and the following image:
Is cool and all but what does "Only Most Recent" mean?
Is that plural for "Most recent ones"? Or is it singular for "Only most Recent episode" (which is what assume it is) ala iTunes?
The simplest example would be, TedTalks. Their main podcast usually refreshes a lot of episodes say, on Wednesday. So if I get home and it only downloads the last one = useless podcast app for me, just like iTunes and Podcasts. However, if it gets all recent ones (i.e non-downloaded so far), then it's a bingo!
Of course there is a refresh every N hours and streaming via 3G and whatnot, but it's not really a solution for the simplest thing in the world (Hey podcast catcher, please download all I have not watched, ok?).
Downcast, afaik (their FAQ? Review?) has an option to specify "all new podcasts" or something like that.
Thanks for your time.
