Instagram today announced that it is expanding its shopping feature beyond the news feed to Instagram Stories.

When viewing Instagram Stories from brands, stickers with a shopping bag icon can be tapped and will provide more details about the product along with purchase options.

Instagram has previously allowed users to view product information and make purchases through brand posts in the main news feed.

Instagram says that the new Stories shopping feature is available to a select number of brands that include Adidas, Aritzia, and Louis Vuitton, with support set to expand to additional brands in the near future.

Actually surprised it took this long for them to implement something like this.

They've had it in the news feed for quite some time. This is just allowing it in stories now too.

The reason you don't see it in the normal feed often is that only certain users are allowed to use it and even more restricting, they have to be using only a small number of supported e-commerce platforms to integrate with it.

Stories are already full of tags , gyfs and models promoting stuff now this , Snapchat is clean and not filled with annoying stuff.

Right, yeah I was referring to Stories. It just seems like the natural progression, just took them a while.
