Hello all.

I use a PowerBook G4 12" 1.33GHz with 1.25 Gigs of RAM running 10.4.11 and an Intel Mac Mini C2D 1.83 with 3 Gigs of RAM running 10.5.8.

I have Aperture 2.x running on both (had to use a slight hack to bypass the screen resolution requirement to run on the PowerBook but works fine otherwise) and both computers worked excellently with my Nikon D40 RAW files. Since upgrading to a D90 in the spring, the PowerBook can not "see" the D90 RAWs in Aperture or even Preview.

I know the needed Camera RAW update can run in 10.4.11 but it requires Aperture 2.x or iPhoto 8 to install. Apparently it does not recognize my slightly altered Aperture running on the PowerBook, so how do I bypass or change the system requirements to install the update?

Frankly this update should be allowed to install if just to view in Preview alone. The requirement doesn't make sense. I read another poster on the Apple Discussions had the same issue but was able to edit the system requirements to install the update. Unfortunately that thread is a year old, archived and unable to reply to.

Some further background...Mini is running iPhoto 7.x and PowerBook is running iPhoto 4.x so I havn't got a copy of iPhoto 8 to use in order to force the RAW update.

How do I accomplish this?

Many thanks,
