Recently an archive install was done on my MacBook Pro 10.4.11. Flash wasn't working properly when I got it back. I uninstalled it, repaired permissions, and reinstalled Flash 10 with the browser off. All it does is put the package and the application on my desktop, even though I click the arrow for hard drive. No leftover flash player files left.
I've gotten messages like the following: "dont have a plug-in installed for this MIME type". I've checked the hard drive and other major folders in it with Get Info to make sure none are locked. (under Get Info Owner for the hard drive, is it supposed to say 'system'? Is 'admin' supposed to be a choice? [Admin IS listed under Group]). Will I have trouble reinstalling any application that has 'system' as the Owner? Sorry if this has been answered - I searched before asking.
