Long story short, I just reinstalled Mavericks on my MBP, and I am moving all my files from a manual backup I had rather than time machine. This all worked great and it's nice to have a new start actually, but iPhoto didn't install during the mavericks installation. When I go to the app store it wants me to upgrade to Yosemite which I really don't want to do. I have it on another macbook of the same era and its not very stable. Also the 10.10.1 messes up a few programs that I rely on on this computer so lets not get into that debate just yet.

How do I go about installing the older version of iPhoto that I had on this computer before I reinstalled my operating system?

System Details:
10.9.5
Late 2011 MBP2.2 GHz i7
8GB of DDR3

Thank you much!

You don't.

The App Store only contains the latest version, which only works on Yosemite.

You should always be running the latest OS for security reasons, and your programs that don't work under Yosemite needs updating/upgrading to a newer version.

Do you have an iLife '11 or 10.0 DVD? The iPhoto version you want is on it. If you don't have one, check eBay, or check your local Genius Bar - if you explain your situation, they may install it on your machine for you.

You need to log in to your App Store account, and look in your "Purchases" section of the App Store application. When you attempt to download iPhoto, it will tell you that the current version is for 10.10 but will offer to allow you to download the latest compatible version for 10.9.5.

See above. Many applications support "Last compatible version" downloads from the App Store. iPhoto is one of them.
