can one or two folks save me days of stumbling around through the scammer hell of trying to determine if this is a doable thing to do and why.? is it smart ?cause conflicts? allow me some distance from the surviellars? in other words pros and cons in two sentences --as I said would save me days of research thanks.

Sorry, but you're starting in the wrong end here.
Running any Linux distribution won't magically provide operations security if that's what you're after. Or from a different perspective: Any computer/OS combination may well be good enough if you've been ambitious enough to identify your critical information, analyzed your threat environment and your vulnerabilities, assessed your risks, and acted accordingly.

Now, if you want to play around with a Linux distribution anyway, go right ahead. If you want to run it on a modern Mac, your best alternative is likely to install it in a VM. If you want to run it on bare metal, do yourself a favour and get a pretty mainstream PC with components from well-known manufacturers to avoid driver issues.
