Hi

The hard drive on my macbook crashed. Also the dvd drive died long ago.
I found this link on how to install Mac OS X from a USB drive. However this assumes that there is a working Mac OS X installation on the computer. This is obviously not the case here.
I also don't have a firewire cable for target mode.

Any advice on how to proceed?

Thanks!

It sounds like you need to purchase a firewire cable.

as samh said get a FW cable, or better yet a USB bus powered DVD drive so that at least you'll have a DVD drive ($25-$30) should you need one in the future
