Hello,

I had the hard drive crash on a Power Mac G5 we use as a server. In an effort to get the server up and going I bought a Maxtor ATA/100 at CompUSA. The cable connections are much smaller on the Mac than the new Mac Maxtor hard drives. Is it possible in some way to make this Maxtor hard drive work on the Power Mac or can I purchase a hard drive a CompUSA that will work in the PowerMac G5. It's a 160GB Serial ATA hard Drive.

The downfall was the "Keys out of order" message. Could not get the drive repaired.

Thank you for any responses!
Michael

The Power Mac has a SATA interface. You can simply get a ATA-to-SATA adapter. They are pretty cheap. The drive may be slightly slower than a native SATA drive however.
