Where I live
Hi,

Sorry if that has been answered, but I can only find information on installing on an external hard-drive.

I want to install on a ssd drive in an external drive enclosure and set-it up leisurely. Then one day, I will swap the hard-drive as time permits.

I'm guessing this is possible, but would like to confirm it first.

Thanks!

Sure is possible you will want to create a bootable USB installer though if the App you Download will not allow an install on the external, that would be the only thing to watch out for. A link below on how to create such an installer.

Thanks for taking the time to answer, but I got that part figured out.

I'm wondering if I can move the external ssd hard-drive to the Macbook Pro so that it becomes the internal hard-drive. Once it is clean installed and set-up on the external enclosure.

Your welcome. Certainly as the poster above has already added you could put it in a Mac Pro if you wanted OS X does not care what machine it was installed on it will work anywhere it has the hardware support for.
