MACBookPRO Mavericks
i7
8GB RAM
SSD 256 GB RAM

2-3 times a day my fan got crazy, temperature increases, when I go to processes I can see the Install process has started and is allocating memory up to 2GB RAM.

I don't have anything being installed on being updated.

Also my RAM is 8GB , normally busy with 3.5 GB.
When Install process from nothing starts, it says it is allocating (from 0.6 - 2 GB RAM) which still makes it 3.5 + 2 = 5.5 GB RAM at MAX.

But when I have a look down to the summary table it says:

Physical Memory: 8.00 GB
Memory Used: 7.99 GB

please help i can not identify this process nor application within UI of Mavericks. I dont trigger anything, it does not seem to me related to some other software (I already tried etc..)

Install Process is killing me

Having the same issue here on a i5 Mac Mini with 8G of ram.

Brings the MAC to a total crawl and causes all other applications to be passed.

Cannot see any reason for the Installer process to be running.

When you manage to Kill the process or force it to reboot you can work normally again for a couple of hours then it happens all over again.

Only been an issue since upgrading to mavericks. :(

Anyone have ideas??
