I installed Windows 8.1 on my iMac and love it. Everything works except the "Sleep" function because I have a thunderbolt Lacie Drive connected to it.

Now I wanted to do the same on my rMBP 15" with 512 SSD. Didn't want to mess with Bootcamp, even though there is a way to install it by using very little space on the SSD to an external drive.

So I followed this method and it works great! No bootcamp, partitioning etc.

Just plug in your external drive, hold ALT and switch the disk during boot and you are in Windows!

You can check it out if you are interested.
