Hi all,
I would like to reuse an old imac 2015 that does not support next macos release, and I want install windows 11 on this machine.

As I don’t need macos anymore, do you inow if it is possible to install windows without bootcamp ? What about hardware drivers if I don’t use bootcamp ? Are there any « generic » drivers provided by windows ?

Thank you !

Hey
There's no generic Mac drivers from Microsoft.
As for me, It's better to sit with macOS, because in case of something you'd be able to reinstall Windows, diagnose Mac through Apple Diagnostics, external boot etc.
Technically it's possible. But with a hell of the pitfalls in addition (+ risk to doom a firmware behavior).
macOS with min requirements grabs ~40Gb of storage. But you'd receive all the drivers as well as a lifeline if something went wrong

Hi and thanks a lot for your answer and advices.
Finally, I grab bootcamp drivers on usb stick (from bootcamp assistant), erase iMac SSD, install windows 10, install bootcamp drivers (including bootcamp manager).
It works like a charm :)

I think this 2015 iMac will last for several years again. It is for someone in my family that didn't know macOS and who can't/don't want learn using a new OS other than windows.
