Hi all,

I purchased Lion from the app store some time ago and created a bootable installation DVD. Coming from the Redmond universe, I am used to the paradigm that during (XP) or after (Vista/7) a fresh install I have to enter a key to validate that I have purchased a license for my OS (there are ways around this, but it is not my point here).

Is it the same now with Lion (maybe you have to enter your Apple Id at some point - probably to get the updates)? Or can i just go around and lend my DVD to whomever has an Apple computer and let them try out Lion X for free?

Thanks for your help!

That's correct. You don't need a license or product key.

However, the licensing terms you agreed to only allow you to install Lion on your personal devices.
