Hi guys,

Yosemite GM candidate 3 here.

I've just downloaded the definite version from the MAS. Tried to install it and after a couple of minutes the following error appears: "the core storage operation is not allowed on a sparse logical volume group".

It happened twice so I am not going for a third one.

I'm a bit confused, no partitions in my HD, only using parallels (don't know whether this could be any relevant or not).

Any one has seen this?

Thanks for your help; much appreciated.

Posted the above at developer forum and a nice guy suggested the following:

"I had an issue with the core storage also and found this from a thread discussing it. Worked great for me, just follow these instructions and it will correct the issue. Then you can try the install after you reboot, should work.

Yep. That's definitely a core storage logical volume.

You can revert it to get partitions back to normal by running these 2 commands in terminal.

diskutil cs list

and then

diskutil coreStorage revert lvUUID

where lvUUID is the last lvUUID reported by the previous Terminal command.

Then restart for everything to get back to normal after you have run these commands in Terminal".

Nevertheless terminal showed the following error:

Error: -69666: This Core Storage operation is not allowed on a sparse logical volume group

However, I downloaded A389 again and started the installation for the third time. It worked!

Just in case any of you finds the same issue.
