I'm trying to install the Harware IO Tools. In the older XCode, you installed those under /Developer/whatever

Where is the recommended install location for the new tools, it doesn't come with an installer other than the Network Preference pane.

----------

I got impatient and created a Developer folder under my Applications folder.

Curious as to what others did though...

You can install the additional tools wherever you want. I installed the Graphics Tools in my Applications folder and had no problems.

I generally create a folder called Xcode Tools in my /Applications folder and then subdivide that folder into the different tool groups such as an IO Tools folder and a Graphics Tools folder. Seems to do the trick just fine.

I thought I replied to this post, but apparently not!

I did exactly the same thing. I was hoping there wasn't some voodoo going on where they wanted you to open up the XCode contents and put it in there somewhere.
