I have MacBook Air and decided to install El Capitan on my otherwise unused Transcend 128 GB JetDrive Lite (its an SD card). Repartitioned it to GUID format, and did the installation.
During the installation I don't recall being prompted to create a login password. It booted up, running off the SD card was a bit slow but not unexpected. So the MacBook goes to sleep, and when I get back to it, I was prompted for my password. Hmm, did I set it up with my old PW? Nope! I checked Apple Support and foud I could use my Apple ID and PW to change the system PW. So I went through that, and when I rebooted -- it wouldn't respond to the newly created PW.
Anyone with a similar experience? Should I just wipe it and a clean installation?
Thanks!
