Installation question with ML, Windows 7 and Mavericks

Hi
This is my current set up:
Macbook Air Mid 2012
2 partitions - Mountain Lion and a 100gb partition for Windows 7 in a bootcamp.

I would like to install Mavericks as a 3rd os on my system. Can I just boot to the Mavericks disk utility to create a 2nd partition on my Mountain Lion partition before installing Mavericks or do I need to create this all from scratch?

Just wanted to let y'all know this worked out okay. I was able to create the 3rd partition within Mountain Lion and install it. It even allowed me to transfer all my documents/settings.
