did a drive clone and it seems to be very quick on some things and slow on others. Should I reinstall the os and my programs. I dont have a ton of stuff on it now so I figure this would be the time if Im going to do it. Your thoughts?

Same thing happened to me. I switched from 5400 to 7200 and did a clone, but my boot time increased 30 seconds. I just restored from a time machine backup and it sped up pretty quick. I'm sure a reinstall of the OS would be even better.
