Installed airport extreme upgrade in my first gen MBP. Results.

I doubt anybody still cares about the first gen MBP from 2006 but I just wanted to let the slim amount of people who still own one know that they should upgrade their airport card if they feel that their wifi signal is worthless around other computers.

I used to get 2 bars in my own house with 4 other computers including a MB on wireless G and virtually no connections in my university with other laptops around.

However today when I installed the airport extreme N upgrade card from J&R for $50 my bars instantly went up to 5 in the same house with the same network still using wireless G.

This is amazing, the old card just seams like it was made for a $200 computer, not a $2000 Macbook Pro.

Can we not get started with the speed E-Peen in this thread.

I just wanted to show first gen. owners that not only is the speed faster, you can actually connect to networks normally not accessible because of the old network card.

For $50 this is a great upgrade and it was really easy to install.
