Installed and applied AdGuard for mac. Can't see it in Activity Monitor. Why?

I am new to mac.
(honestly this OS can be confusing at times).

I installed AdGuard for Safari.

I set it up - I think correctly because I don't see ads in Safari. Great!

But when I launch Safari and use it, and open Activity Monitor, I don't see AdGuard running.

How can this be?

(PS - I also noticed that unlike in Chrome, AdGuard is a full desktop app (?) and runs on the machine itself instead of in the browser (?), which puzzles me even more so as to why I am not seeing it show up in Activity Monitor).
