Installed codecs on ATV - now what?

So I followed the instructions on Engadget to be able to play XVIDs etc. I got as far as installing the plugins and codecs.

Question 1: How do I get the actual movie files (divx, xvids etc.) to my Apple TV? same as MOV/MP4s via iTunes or some other way? What is the path where I can save the movie files?

Question 2: Do I need to copy and store the files on ATV HD? Can I simply stream files from my PC Desktop to ATV?

Question 3: I am screwing up somewhere in my ssh.plist config.... for when I have that file on the ATV, it fails to boot. If I delete the file, it works ok.

ssh via Fugu
you put your movies into the "Movies" sub-folder of the "frontrow" folder

Yes, to do that you need to set up a share using nitoTV and some other commands. This is not really trivial, but there is a solution. PM me for more info.

I have followed most if not all instructions from here:

Here's where I am stuck. While trying to SSH into ATV, I receive following error:
ssh_exchange_identification: Connection closed by remote host


My ATV info:
Name: sa_Apple TV (good? bad?)
Software Version: 2.1 (Build: 227)
IP Address: 192.168.*.***
