installed lion now all my file will not show up.

installed lion last night was working fine restarted my mbp and after restart my files in finder were not there. I try to find out what was going on and in i open downloads there is nothing there but if you right click around you came get the info for the item in the folder. I went from my 9400 graphics to the 9600 and all the file will show up there but not when on the 9400 card. I reset pram srm i think its called did permissions and still nothing. Any ideas? thanks
