Just installed A new hard drive on my MacBook. Now when I go to start up all I get is a grey folder with a question mark. I tried to startup with my tiger dvd inside holding down the C button, but the same thing happens. What should I do?

Hold down the option/alt key at boot. A boot drive chooser thingy should appear. Select the CD from the list of devices, once it finishes loading, and click the button with the big right arrow in it. That should get you booted from the CD.

Turns out the drive was DOA. Just installed the new drive this morning and it works! To my pleasant surprise my MacBook no longer has the vibration issues related to stock drive. :D
