I installed an Intel 160mb SSD today. The drive was not recognized when i started to install OSx. I eventually found out i needed to run disk utility and erase the drive. This also entailed choosing a format....I used the default or first on the list Mac OSx exteneded (journaled).

Was this the correct format for MBP13?

Yes, the correct format for OSX is Mac (Journaled) - AFAIK, this is from my experience with hackintoshes before i buy my mac.

Disk Utility > Erase > Mac Extended (Journaled) > Erase.. > Install

*btw its a 160GB SSD.. wud u mind telling me where u got it from, coz im after one too ;)*

LOL...yes your right GB not MB... typo. Thanks for the input, i also checked with apple care and they confirmed that for the regular user it is the correct format.

I got mine at Amazon for 499...cheapest price i could find at the time i got mine.
