I updated a program this morning and after it rebooted my Mac, I can't get in. No, my password and username are correct. It did something to my computer and I've tried everything. Won't use the external HD backup and I've had to re-install Monterey 2x already. Used all the combo keys and power button and still nothing.
 
What Mac model do you have? Posting specifics helps us provide better informed advice.

If you feel comfortable using your Mac, you should consider wiping the drive in Disk Utility in Recovery Mode, and then reinstalling Monterey. Unless you have a hardware problem, that should get you back up and running.
