I have a powermac g4 dual 1.25ghz mirror drive computer. I added the official superdrive per the instructions on the do it yourself section on apple's website. It's all installed fine and I put the superdrive on master and the combodrive on slave and it recognizes it and allows me to read cds on the superdrive but it doesn't let me burn cds (and maybe dvds too I haven't tried). It gives me a failed burn medium error. I then tried it on the slaved combodrive and it works great. Why is this and how can I fix it? Like I said this is an official superdrive.
Thanks,
Stephen

try verbtaim or apple branded cd-rs and try dropping the write speed to 12x. also, try a cd-rom cleaner. the lense might be dirty.
