Installed the Double hard drive mod, how to set DVD player?

hello
I recently did the double hard drive mod
I have a SSD as main and I remove the internal super DVD drive and replaced it with an HDD

but now when I want to watch DVDs, Mac DVD player software gives me error -70012
now I already have VLC player installed
is there a way to make DVDs autorun play when inserted into my external DVD drive? and make VLC player the default DVD player?

when your dvd is mounted, right click... info...

then opens with... select vlc... then click... change all

I am facing the same issue, after I moved the optical drive to an external enclosure.

Yep. I've done that with out any problems. Just make sure you've got a backup of the file before editing and when you save your file back after editing you may need to chmod it to its original perms depending on how you do the change. Good luck!
